We Live Here 2011

This photograph is part of a broader series on the banlieues of Paris and the people who call them home. Over the course of 3 months in the Spring of 2011 this personal journey through the outskirts of Paris permitted me to see places and meet people that truly enriched my life - and I hope my photography as well. In the image above Sacko is taking me on a tour of his neighborhood in Ivry while we meander our way back to the train station.

An image from one of my first days in St. Denis, France.
It is just outside of Paris and is a culturally diverse and vibrant community. Mine is not necessarily the most common opinion in regards to this town or so many others like it that dot the periphery of France’s major cities.
